Working around and through the challenges, International Action was successful in drilling a well at the hospital in the community of Hinche to support the facilities need for a reliable source of clean water. This was a major achievement. The following pictures show the location of the site and the drilling operations that resulted in providing water to the hospital.
Having partnered with New Generation Ministries, we are more determined than ever in 2021 and are working in several locations between Gonaives and Gros Morne. We remain steadfast in our mission to supply clean water to the local villages. Below are our top priorities for this year.
Rash Platt: This is a small rural village along the road from Gonaives to Gros Morne with approximately 3,000 very poor inhabitants who are mostly farmers. The villagers generally find work as hired hands on regional farms. Their only well stopped working almost a year ago. Currently they walk or send their children a few miles (yes, miles) to the nearest public well to haul back the heavy water buckets. International Action is currently drilling a new well for this struggling community even as I type.
