The National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA), in collaboration with the United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF), invited International Action and other non-profit entities in Haiti to participate in an exhibition and panel discussion to commemorate World Water Day 2011. The event dedicated to water challenges in Haiti, featured International Action’s water tank and chlorinator and its dedication to make clean water a reality for the most impoverished people in Haiti.
Through its chlorinators and tanks, International Action is demonstrating that providing clean water in Haiti problem does not need to be complicated nor expensive. For example, simple and affordable water chlorination treatments are taken for granted by developed nations, but are a lifesaver for undeveloped countries like Haiti.
The World Water Day event highlighted the post-earthquake water challenges faced by Haitians. In Haiti, lack of access to clean water is a crisis that is consigning large segments of the population to lives of poverty, vulnerability, and insecurity. Moreover, it emphasized the commitment and collaboration that it will take from all entities to increase clean water access for the people of Haiti. Without a doubt, International Action is sustainably committed to Haiti.
