First I would like to thank International Action for the positive work they are doing in my country, Haiti. Thank you for targeting the issues at their root by trying to eliminate the problem, not just dealing with the negative outcomes. The purpose of my email is to inform International Action that I will be having a medical mission in Carrefour, Haiti at the College Elie Blaise starting Saturday, June 25. During the mission we will offer complete physical examination, screening (diabetes & blood pressure), eye exams, patient education to raise awareness, screening and treatment for malnutrition, acid reflux, wound care and much more.
As you might already know, the cholera outbreak is at an all-time high in the community of Carrefour right now, so chlorine tablets are golden to deal acutely with the outbreak. However, future projects to put chlorinators in 2 hospitals in Carrefour will really help break the vicious cycle. I would like to know how I can obtain some supplies from International Action to integrate the de-worming project with albendazole and provide some chlorine tablets in the mission because the living conditions now favor the spread of intestinal parasites cholera. I understand how valuable such resources are in Haiti and would appreciate any help received.
International Action will assist in installing two chlorinators and provide chlorine and de-worming pills as requested.
